| The
Ben D. Altamirano Tour of the Gila is asking for your help: Please
leave your paint and chalk at home.
Over the past few years, cycling fans have painted the names of their favorite riders and teams on NM 15 in the Signal Peak, Sapillo Creek and Copperas Vista areas. The New Mexico Department of Transportation and the Gila National Forest have received numerous complaints about roads covered with the painted names of riders. The New Mexico Department of Transportation, whose roads we hold our races on, will not tolerate any more names on the road. If this occurs again this year, the Tour of the Gila will be fined a hefty sum of money and it could very likely jeopardize the future of the race. Thank you, Jack Brennan
